Kitsap Community Food Co-op
Kitsap Community Food Co-op
By its nature, we all know that organic, sustainably farmed food tastes better, and research is showing that it’s better for you, too. But those of us who crave
it have a challenge here in Kitsap County ... the nearest source of this kind of food and meat can be
an hour’s drive in any direction! The irony is that there are several local farms that produce just this kind of food. So why aren’t we getting any of it here?
Let’s do something about it. If you care about food
and have the energy to make a positive contribution
to this movement, help us start a cooperatively run grocery store right here in Kitsap County. You don't have to be a hippie or vegetarian or part of a counter culture anything to fit in. We are normal people of all ages who are tired of the industrial way our food is being grown. We want to get some of the farm-fresh food that is being produced locally to be made easily available right here.
If you are interested but don't have very much time, we'll need you too -- to be potential co-op members and shoppers. You can check out the links at the top of this page to find out more about co-ops, and to be updated on upcoming meetings and events.
Let’s help revitalize Kitsap County in a REAL way -- with jobs, a sense of community involvement, and just plain real, good food. Be a part of this historic effort!
